The Ipoh Station Square Cenotaph

The Ipoh Station Square Cenotaph  commemorates those who died in the first and second World Wars. Most major towns in Malaysia (including Singapore) has a Cenotaph in memory of those who died in the world wars. These monuments were erected after the first world war, but when the second World War was finished, some amendments were made to the Cenotaph to incorporate mention of those who died in it as well.

The Ipoh Cenotaph is located at Station Square, right in front of the Ipoh Railway Station. There is a black plastic plate on the Cenotaph (it was originally of brass) with the words, "Memorial to the dead of the two world wars. Sacred to the memory of the men from the state of Perak who fell in the Great War. 1914-1918. And those who died in the 1939-45 war."
